It took me several visits to key west before I got around to going to the Mel fisher museum, but I'm sure glad I went now. Very interesting place!

A great history of the keys and a great story about the find. See the treasure and read or hear about it's history. How after years of looking came across this huge find.

Largest priceless finds arr here. Unbelievable history of the wreckers and how the Keys got its wealth.

I got lost in the amazing story of the discovery of these treasures… the artifacts on display were incredible. The information was easy to understand and the flow of the museum took you literally on a journey back in time. I loved every minute spent there . Oh and I did the narrated tour which was very informative.

The Mel Fisher Maritime Museum turned out to be far more interesting than I expected. I originally hadn't planned to visit, but it was recommended on the tour of Fort Jefferson in Dry Tortugas National Park. I decided to check it out! There is a lot of information packed into the museum. Of course, there is a lot about finding and recovering treasure. But there's also information on the trade route and slavery. I enjoyed my visit and highly recommend it.

My fiancé and I got the behind the scenes lab tour and did it before touring the exhibits and it was SO worth it. Super knowledgeable and informative behind the scenes tour of their lab. They let us see what they’re working on and actually held some artifacts. The exhibits were amazing and definitely worth the money. Love this place

This museum was incredible!!! A must see. We did the shipwreck museum across the street which was a cute Disney-feeling museum. We wanted something more and saw this- truly amazing to see the real treasure and artifacts from years of hard work. You could spend a long time in here reading about each thing. I highly recommend this for adults and teens who want the real thing! Would be a bit boring for young kids. This was our favorite museum in key west!

Booked the behind the scenes tour and was not disappointed. Ended spending over 2 hours looking at all the exhibits and seeing how some of the preservation of artifacts is done. Extremely interesting and well worth it.

Wow, was I pleasantly surprised by this museum. The plentiful artifacts and beauties of the Spanish treasure ship, the story of the dogged search and discovery, a whole additional exhibit on pirates, and yet another on the slave trade make this one of the better small museums I have visited around the world. We spent nearly 2 hours there. Be sure you don’t mistakenly go to the kitschier “Shipwreck” museum nearby. That might be OK for kids, but if you like a museum with merit and sound research, go to Mel Fisher.

Very Interesting. (Happy they had chairs for my parents to sit every now and again). Having the actual items from the sea, to see, was amazing. The story was wonderful. So well defined and elaborate. The slave trade information was unnerving but very educational. Cuban missle crisis review was wildly informative. We enjoyed the museum immensely.
